Is Vervain safe to use?
Yes. Vervain never permanently deletes anything — all cleaned files are moved to your macOS Trash. You can restore them anytime. The app is also fully open source, so you can verify exactly what it does.
Does Vervain need Full Disk Access?
Full Disk Access is optional. It allows Vervain to scan protected folders like ~/Library for deeper cleaning. Without it, Vervain still works — it just scans fewer locations.
What's the difference between the free DMG and the App Store version?
They're the same app. The App Store version gets automatic updates and supports development through a one-time purchase. The DMG is free and always will be.
Does Vervain collect any data?
No. Zero telemetry, zero analytics, zero network requests. See our Privacy Policy for details.
